Yes. Curved By Design Inc's innovative building systems are fully engineered and are based on a curved wood panel technique that has been recognized by the National Research Council of Canada, Industry Canada, The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, the BC Wood Council, The Kootenay Association for Science and Technology, to name a few.
This modular, curved wood building system creates exceptionally durable structures that are resistant to extreme natural forces. A prototype of the system was proven to withstand extreme seismic (earthquake) and gravitational (snow load) forces through testing that was completed at the University of British Columbia’s Earthquake Research Facility under the direction of one of the company's co-founders, Dr. Helmut Prion, P.Eng.
