Helmut Prion, Ph.D., P.Eng.

Co-founder
Engineering and Product Development

Dr. Helmut Prion, P.Eng., is an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia where he teaches Structural Engineering Design courses to Civil Engineering and Wood Science students.  His research interests are broadly defined to encompass the earthquake performance of wood and steel buildings with an emphasis on the behaviour of connections and unconventional structures.  Helmut often works with practicing engineers to find solutions to design problems. He has been active on several code committees and has been an instructor of continuing education courses.

Helmut was instrumental in the development of this innovative building system and directed the testing of the curved wood panel prototype at the University of British Columbia's Earthquake Research Facility in Vancouver, BC Canada.  He is tremendously enthusiastic about further developing this curved envelope system and recognizes its inherent advantages for many design and building applications.

Currently, he is engineering a new curved wood building system that will compliment our existing panelized building envelope and expand our product line.
